Our Approach

Guide Consulting has a high level of success coaching people of diversity. Special coaching issues usually center on the underlying dynamics of fear and anxiety as do the concerns of those being trained to coach these persons. Generally, our approach will include aspects of the following:

• Starting small and building
• Avoiding "frontal assaults”
• Demonstrating examples of openness
• Beginning to understand diversity as an asset
• Using breakdowns as learning opportunities
• Refraining from treating 'diversity' as a token concern

The goal is to create an open environment, treating all people with
dignity and respect.

Agility Assessment and Diversity

Guide’s methods and tools add significant value to client diversity efforts. We have evidence that our approach contributes to “leveling the playing field” for diverse people.  Our focus on the willingness and ability to learn from experiences, as a predictor one’s future ability to perform against new challenges, does not penalize those who have less work experience.

Research indicates that the ability to transfer learning is the best indicator of future potential. Guide assesses, coaches, and develops for learning transfer -- learning agility. Thus, people of diversity who have limited experiences have an equal a starting point.
